"JazzTick" Amiga Tick Signal Generator
This project is designed to be simple and inexpensive to build, while being relatively easy to adapt to either PAL or NTSC (50Hz and 60Hz) Amigas that require an alternate source to replace the tick signal normal provided by the OEM power supply.
Some of the reasoning for this approach, over smoothing the Agnus signal or coupling to the AC frequency, where I wanted to have something that I could potentially put back inside the power supply, but I didn't want to have a floating board that required mains voltages to be piped in. As the only reason to have the tick signal tied to the mains voltage would be for sync with other audio visual equipment on the some mains supply voltage it didn't seem worth the effort to replicate the OEM power supplies AC derived signal, given I wasn't looking to use any such equipment.
I may do a future iteration that uses a trimmer pot to go the last mile, but I need a little more data to make sure I spec this correctly, so that 50Hz and 60Hz are achievable with the same BOM. On this basis if anyone builds one of these please comment with the Ohm values used and the frequency achieved.
